Agenda

  • 1. Understand Medicaid and individual market insurance trends observed by the Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Office of the Commissioner (OCI) of Insurance for 2024.

    2. Learn about current policies, programs, and issues of priority for DHS and OCI in 2025.

  • Panelists from Northwestern and Central WI will share their experiences working with a Benefits Navigator, Alicia Canziani. They will talk about:

    1. benefits of having a professional “Navigate” them through the process of enrollment/renewal.

    2. barriers and challenges they have faced.

    3. issues involving being uninsured or “underinsured” and transitioning from one coverage to another.

  • Attendees will learn about:

    1. how to identify clients who have been enrolled into a Marketplace plan without their understanding or that does not fit their needs.

    2. the actions regulatory agencies are taking to stop fraud.

    3. understand the impact of having coverage out of network and how working with a Navigator can help.


    1. Walk through the unique considerations and challenges that young adults face when thinking about health insurance options.

    2. Get expert tips on how to best help young adults access the right coverage.

    3. Explore implicit bias.

    4. Learn the frequently asked questions from college students.

Continuing Education and Prelicensing credits

Agents/brokers, CACs, and Navigators can fulfill complete credit requirements from the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI).

Those seeking pre-licensing certification will also attend a pre-conference series September 4th - 6th from 8:30am - 12:00 pm
