Support for Caregivers
Support Options:
Are you caring for an adult family member, friend, or neighbor? Caregivers need support too. You can call 2-1-1 to find a local ADRC (Aging and Disability Resource Center) that can help you manage care. Some jobs also offer support for caregivers. Call your Human Resources department and ask what is offered.
Are you caring for a veteran?
The VA has a caregiver program for enrolled veterans. Call your local ADRC and ask for the Caregiver Coordinator.
See if your loved one qualifies for a Medicaid long-term care program.
Long-term care may pay for:
Help with daily living tasks
Respite care (Someone watches your loved one to give you a short break.)
Safety changes in your home
Transportation

Assisted living
Care management

To qualify, the person you care for must:
Need help with at least 3 daily living tasks, such as personal care, making meals, or taking medication.
