What is covered at a family planning doctor visit?

Family Planning Only Services helps you get sexual health check-ups and supplies. The following are a few examples of what is covered:

  • Condoms

  • Birth control services and supplies

  • Sexual health check-ups, including PAP tests

  • Tests for STDs or sexually transmitted infections

  • Procedures to prevent future pregnancy such as a vasectomy or tubal ligation (tube tie)

Call 1-800-362-3002 to learn about what other services are covered. All of your information is private, and you can have your test results mailed to another address.

Who qualifies?

You can qualify if all of these are true:

  • You are of any reproductive age (including those under 18)

  • Your monthly income is between $0 and $4,070 (only count your own income before taxes)

  • You are a U.S. citizen, refugee, asylee or legal immigrant age 18 or younger. If you' are a legal immigrant over age 18, you must have lived in the U.S. for 5 years or more.

You can still get Family Planning Only Services even if you already have insurance. If you need insurance, you can apply to get BadgerCare Plus. Apply online at access.wi.gov, by phone at 1-800-362-3002 (ask for your county or tribal agency), and in-person by calling 2-1-1 to find local help.
