What’s Free with Health Insurance
Learn about what services are free with health insurance and what isn’t.
How to find what’s free?
Call your insurance company and ask what health services are free for you and your family. Ask them where to go for these services so they are in-network.
In-Network means the group of doctors, clinics, and hospitals that are covered by your insurance.
Preventative health care keeps you healthy and saves you money. Scheduling a free yearly appointment can help prevent future health issues, which saves you money later. To schedule a free yearly appointment:
Call your Primary Care Provider and ask to schedule your yearly check-up.
Go to your check-up and ask what tests are needed for your age.
Ask your provider if everything in the visit is covered under a free check-up. Always ask if a test is free!
A Primary Care Provider is the doctor, nurse practitioner, or healthcare professional you see for routine care.

If you are charged for an annual check-up or free service, it is important to ask the clinic why. Call your clinic’s billing department and ask them why you were charged.
You may need to fill out forms with your insurance company to remove a charge. Call your insurance company’s customer service and ask for help.
